Free school meals in P6 and P7
If you don’t but you
- get the
- have a child in primary 6 or 7
you can get free school meals. You can’t get school holiday payments, free milk or a school clothing grant.
You’ll need to provide proof that you get the Scottish Child Payment for the children you apply for. If you’ve lost your award letter, call Social Security Scotland free on
0800 182 2222
to ask for a copy.
Apply for free school meals for a P6 or P7 child
Awards will be valid until your child leaves primary school. This means
- P7 children will get free school meals until July 2026
- P6 children will get free school meals until July 2027.
Your award will end earlier if you stop getting the Scottish Child Payment. You must if this happens.
